[Traumatic rupture of the diaphragm in children: apropos of 2 cases]. / Rotura traumática del diafragma en el niño: a propósito de dos observaciones.

We present two patients with diaphragmatic rupture, right and left respectively, which occurred after thoracoabdominal traumatisms. Comments are made on the increase of this pathology in the pediatric population and the importance of an early diagnosis. We also revise the diagnostic procedures and underline the value of the chest roentgenogram to establish an early diagnosis.

[Stress fractures in children: clinico-radiologic diagnosis]. / Las fracturas de estrés en el niño: diagnóstico clínicorradiológico.

The authors present 4 children with stress bone fractures and review this entity. The most significant aspects in the mechanism of production of stress fractures are considered along with the appropriate steps for the diagnosis after careful history and physical examination, with special emphasis to the imaging diagnosis.

[Subcapsular hepatic hematoma in the neonatal period: echographic diagnosis]. / El hematoma subcapsular hepático en el período neonatal: diagnóstico ecográfico.

We report a case of Subcapsular Hematoma in a preterm neonate. The etiology, clinical findings and therapeutic features of this entity are reviewed and emphasis is made on the importance of radiographic and sonographic images in early diagnosis. We also discuss the absence of intestinal air in the premature, as well as possible etiologies and differential diagnosis.
